Claims are one of Survival's core mechanics - claiming your land is the best way to keep your stuff safe!
Claims can be any size, and will always cover every Y level from bedrock to sky limit.
The possible size of your claimed area depends on how many claimblocks you have.
One claimblock is equal to one block you can claim in the world. For example, a 10x10 area needs 100 claimblocks to claim.
Claimblocks can be earned from playtime, voting, crates, drop parties, and more!
Claims cannot be created in the resource world, nether, or end.
The first thing you want to do is to create your claim.
There are 2 ways to do this: either by using a claim shovel, or through commands.
Claim Shovel:
This way is more precise than claiming through commands.
Use /kit claim
to receive the claim kit, which includes a golden shovel and a guidebook.
Right click the ground using the claim shovel, this will become one corner of your claim.
Then, walk across to where you want the opposite (diagonally) corner to be, and right click the ground with the claim shovel.
Command:
Simply run the command /claim <radius>
, where the radius is the amount of blocks away from you that you want to claim.
The default radius when running this command is 5 blocks.
To check if an area is claimed, right click the ground with a stick.
If the block you have clicked is inside of a claim, it will be highlighted by a gold and glowstone border.
Note: Make sure to not claim land too close to someone else's claim, unless you have their permission to do so.
After creating a claim, it can be expanded or made smaller by using the claim shovel.
To resize your claim, simply right-click any corner of the claim, and then right click in a new spot.
You can also expand a claim by using commands:
To do this, hold your claim shovel and look in the direction you want to expand (north/south/west/east).
Then run /expandclaim <number>
, where the number is how many blocks out you want to expand the claim.
To remove a claim, stand inside of it and run /abandonclaim
or /unclaim
.
If your claim contains subdivisions, you can run /abandontoplevelclaim
while standing in the main claim to remove both the claim and it's subclaims all at once.
If you want to remove all of your claims, stand outside of a claim and run /abandonallclaims
.
This will unclaim every claim in the world that you own.
By default, you are the only person who can manipulate your claim in any way.
There are different levels of trust that you can give to other players, to give them access to do certain things in your claim.
List of all trust types, ranked from most permissions to least permissions:
Higher permission levels will also have the permissions of the level(s) below it.
/trust <ign> |
Gives specified player permission to build |
/containertrust <ign> |
Gives specified player access to inventories (chests, barrels, etc.), crops, and animals |
/accesstrust <ign> |
Gives specified player access to doors, trapdoors, beds, buttons, and levers |
Note: Setting the permission to “public” instead of a username will give the public (i.e. everyone) the permission.
In addition, there is a special trust permission called /permissiontrust <ign>
.
This allows the player(s) it is given to to share their permission level with others.
Example: If Player1 has trust and permissiontrust inside of your claim or subclaim, they will be able to give Player2 trust in the claim.
To see who has trust on your land, you can run /trustlist
, while standing inside of the claim or subclaim you want to check.
This also lists which permission level each user has.
If you want to remove someone's permissions from your claim, run /untrust <ign>
while standing inside of the claim or subclaim.
Standing outside of a claim will untrust the specified user from all of your claims.
Specifying all
instead of a username or public will remove everyones permissions from the claim you are standing in.
By default, your claim will have explosions disabled.
This includes explosions caused by players (such as TNT), and explosions caused by mobs (such as creepers).
You can use /claimexplosions
to toggle this.
This permission will reset to default upon server restart.
You can list all of your claims using /claimlist
, this will also include the claims locations and their total amount of claimblocks.
The claimlist will also list your total claimblock balance, and the amount of claimblocks you have available to spend.
Subclaims, or subdivisions, are a way of separating your claim into multiple areas whilst still being a part of your original claim
Subclaims can also be set up to have separate permissions from your main claim.
Run /subdivideclaim
while holding your claim shovel - this will enter subdivision mode.
While in subdivision mode, you can create a subclaim the same way you would a normal claim.
Subclaims will be highlighted with a border of iron and white wool.
Run /basicclaims
or /bc
to switch back to normal claim mode.
Subclaims can be very useful if you would like to have separate permissions from your main claim.
By default, a subclaim will inherit permissions from the parent claim.
For example, if you were to trust Player1 in your main claim, they will also have trust in the subclaim.
While standing inside of a subclaim, run /restrictsubdivision
to toggle inheriting permissions.
Any permissions given inside of a subclaim will stay inside of that subclaim.
Claim flags, however, do not work the same when it comes to subclaims.
A claim flag set in the main claim will always be set inside of any subclaims, regardless of restriction mode.
Claim flags set inside of a subclaim will only be set inside of that subclaim.
Claim flags are flags that can be added to your claims or subclaims to assist with various things.
