Let's go over a few of the common goals of Towny.
Hopefully, this will help you discover what you'd like to achieve.
¶ Largest Town
The most obvious goal that comes to mind when thinking over what's important on Towny is to have the biggest town on the server.
You can view the largest towns on Towny by using the /t list command.
Although there are benefits to being the best town, some like having a smaller group that they can play with.
Let's see what else may match your playstyle.
¶ Highest Balance
Who doesn't want money?
The more you have, the more power you hold.
With money you can achieve anything and everything.
You can view the richest players on Towny by using the /balancetop or /baltop commands.
With money, you can even perform “IRL” deals to purchase packages from our online store without spending any real life currency.
Having the highest balance is an incredibly difficult task as this is the most sought after title.
You may ask, “How do I make money?”
The answer is in a few other goals you may prioritize.
¶ Highest Job Level
The fastest way to make money would be to have high level jobs.
Maybe you want to be the best at a singular job?
You can view the top players in a specific jobs using /jobs top [jobname].
You can view this by using "/jobs top miner".
Or maybe you want to have the most levels over everyone else?
You can view the top players in all jobs combined using /jobs gtop.
Either way, the higher your levels, the more money you make.
There are other methods that can suit some people better though.
¶ Best Shop
Another great way to make money is to have a shop.
Shops encourage the economic side of Towny and is what separates the gamemode from others.
In regards to “best shop,” there isn't a necessary best.
All shops have different goals in mind, but there are more well known and bigger shops than others.
You can view most shops by browsing through /pw.
Having the best shop means people spend more money on your shop.
While it takes time to maintain a shop, the right style/cost will set you apart.
There are many more ways to make money on Towny; these were just a few methods.
What else does Towny have to offer playstyle wise?
¶ Best Builder
Money is great and all, but who cares for money when you don't enjoy the game?
After all, you are playing a building/breaking block game.
Being the best builder means either contracting yourself out to others for money or making your own creations.
Either way, builders are a must for towns and a necessity for the beauty of the server.
The higher you rank in the server, the more you may notice that being a builder at a higher level means building in a similar style as you might if you were in creative mode.
This allows for quicker builds and a whole lot of quality of life upgrades for people who want to build.
¶ Largest Nation
How about if you don't only want to be friends with your town members?
Maybe you want to set your sights further and be friends with everyone.
That's where nations come in.
Having the biggest nation means that most people on the server know you.
You are established as a so called “King of Towny.”
You can view the largest nation on Towny by using the /n list command.
There are definitely many more playstyles you can have.
